MEMBERSHIP IN DALLAS CHAPTER 13
LOCAL CHAPTER MEETINGS & NEWSLETTER
As a member of Dallas Chapter 13, you have a regular opportunity to study, participate and exhibit in Ikebana programs, workshops, exhibits and activities and events of related arts. Our Chapter newsletter keeps you informed of other chapters’ events, as well as headquarters’ and regional activities.
Ikebana International does not teach a specific type of ikebana. We are an interest group of individuals of many nationalities who enjoy ikebana and other Japanese arts. Many have studied ikebana; some have not.
There are many different schools of ikebana: some stress classic styles; others focus on contemporary forms; and some blend the two. At Ikebana International meetings, students and teachers share openly their schools’ inspirations, styles, philosophy, history, and techniques.
Friend Membership, available for the first year of membership only, entitles you to all Chapter 13 meetings, workshops, exhibits and other events. Our Newsletter keeps you informed of Chapter events, as well as headquarters’ and regional activities.
Regular Membership includes your membership in the IKEBANA INTERNATIONAL organization. As such, you are welcome to visit Chapter meetings anywhere in the world, and may transfer from one Chapter to another upon presentation of a current membership card. Three times each year you will receive the IKEBANA INTERNATIONAL magazine which includes full-color photos of arrangements, articles and news relating to ikebana and Japanese arts.
REGIONAL CONFERENCES AND WORLD CONVENTIONS
You may want to attend the Ikebana International World Convention, which is held in Japan every 5 years, a North American Regional Conference, or one of the other Regional Conferences held around the world. In addition, there are several special annual events and educational opportunities sponsored by many Chapters throughout the U.S.
